Interesting premise of a Tower Defense game and the shenanigans that the MC gets up to while being the overlord for his city/tower defense. MC has the fairly typical archetype of being a scrooge while having some innovative ideas and getting by on a decent bit of luck. The character development currently is a bit shallow but it is mainly the world building phase with a number of different people interacting with the MC so it is understandable. The MC is a bit unique as his goal within the game is not to earn money - honestly one of the first gamer novels when the MC isn't ridiculously poor/greedy. The MC instead is 'casual' and aiming to have fun which shows in the novel in later chapters with some unique developments. The only issues I can really see is the some pretty thick plot armour with the MC getting some quite valuable things very early on - so for people looking at this review I would recommend to not take things to realistically. The other issue is the setup for outside the game is a bit dull with the dialogue usually the standard tropes you see in Chinese web novels - doting 'aunt' type character, person looking down on MC etc.The translator has done a good job with a fair balance presented between keeping Chinese slang/proverbs which provides some charm to the novel and keeping things digestible for a western audience. If you are into video game novels I would say check this out and I hope that this novel gets picked up as I am looking forward to future updates!

Great story, bro! I've really enjoyed it from the very first chapter to the latest one. You've got something special here. However, I have a suggestion: consider drawing inspiration from Japanese sports manga and anime, especially when it comes to adding emotional depth. Series like Diamond no Ace or Haikyuu!! excel at incorporating sad or challenging moments without diving too deep into dark themes. Right now, it feels like you're introducing some really heavy, dark elements that don't quite fit the tone of a sports story, which should be more about youth, energy, and the spirit of competition. It's totally fine to have the main character face struggles on their journey to the top, but there are more fitting ways to explore those setbacks without turning every 50 chapters into a tragedy. You’re crafting an excellent story, and I truly believe it could be even better if you lightened up on the darker elements.I love your work, and I genuinely appreciate your storytelling. I just wanted to share my thoughts because I think your story has the potential to be even more enjoyable. Keep up the great work

After a year of peace with no attacks, the people began forgetting the threat and the army grew lazy. Many would leave and become farmers instead and live peaceful lives. All seemed well. King Garloth was seen as a Hero and became a Legend to all. He grew his empire and all loved him. It was Spring when the attacks began again, this time they were quicker, deadlier, and much more frightening. Hundreds of cities all burned to the ground in one day. The Empire was in chaos, people ran to the capital to get help from King Garloth but when they arrived, the capital was burning. The great King Garloth was dead. The buildings fallen, the army lost, and all that was there was a giant creature as big as a house breathing flames as it flew in the skies with wings wide and long. The people fled in fear, word eventually spread to Areton and they also feared this new threat. They named this creature Dragon and it was a taboo to say it as if one came, all would die.
