I know it's not become but oh well.
The concept is really interesting, a guy who doesn't want to follow the b*llsh*t of cultivation and the normal path of a cultivator decides to become a farmer.
Although there is a great lack of description, the story moves quickly, which is enjoyable.
Bonus point, Big D !
why am I stopping the novel.
1. Romance. Even if it is executed correctly, it is way too important for me. I prefer a trashy romance that is mentioned 3 times in 400 chapters. Or better, no romance!
2. The MC himself. I won't go into detail so as not to spoil things but also because I don't really know how to explain what I think of him.
My objective score would be 4.5/4.6 and my personal score around 3.3 overall a solid 4 in final score
considered that I only read 16 chapter!!!
Should I have read MVS at last ?
The MC, after losing an arm and surviving the dungeon, initially wanted to explore the new world with his loli-vampire wife. However, it was the challenges that shaped him into an unfair and overpowered protagonist. If you're looking for a serious story, this isn't your cup of tea; perhaps try "Nidome no Yuusha" instead.
If you enjoy laughing at clichéd characters and absurdly powerful storylines, then this series might be worth investing in for its comedic aspects. In terms of character development, there wasn't much beyond the initial transformation in Volume 1, where the protagonist went from a timid individual to an edgy one after falling in the dungeon. Despite his edginess, his kindness remains, albeit now expressed more assertively, even going so far as to physically demonstrate his opinions.
If you're seeking a work from an author inexperienced in life and social dynamics, this might pique your interest, but don't anticipate any realism. It's unfortunate that the character lacks authenticity; if the MC possessed the confidence and autonomy of a character like Summoned Slaughterer, the story might have been more appealing. Instead, we get a generic shonen protagonist, attempting to be edgy and dark, but coming across as a one-dimensional imitation.
This isn't a conventional light novel; it reads more like a fanfiction where a bullied virgin writer pours out their fantasies, struggling to develop relatable characters, male or female.
Long explanation:
The story starts off well, but Yue's inclusion ruins it. The focus on a single 12-year-old is inhumane and not convincingly portrayed in a web novel. Yue's beauty is overhyped, and her character lacks depth beyond her looks. The shift to multiple relationships doesn't work because of the attachment to Kaori, who deserved better development. When Kaori's arc doesn't pan out, the connection to the story weakens.
Yue's character is a child-like figure, despite being portrayed as an adult. Other characters like Shia and Kaori have more personality and are likable, while Yue mainly serves as a plot device. The potential for a compelling harem or emotional journey with Kaori is wasted, turning the story into a disappointment.
Battle scenes are mostly filler and uninteresting, except for a few notable exceptions. Overall, the first volume sets false expectations, and the rest of the story suffers greatly due to Yue's negative impact. Rating: 1/5 for the series, with some points for the first volume and individual characters. Yue deserves a significant deduction for her role.
