Eva, feeling bewildered, shocked, and terrified, questioned the stranger who was attempting to harm her. "Why... why do you want to hurt me? We don't even know each other," she managed to choke out, struggling as his hands tightly constricted her neck. "It's because you're my mate!" he growled, frustration evident in his voice.
