MC acting like a saint, the overly-polite aspect of Jap ppl that makes it feels like hypocrite...
Not a perfect manga. Not even a great manga. Arguably not a good manga. At this point, I don't think it's possible to do the "fired from hero party" trope well, with how over done and stale it is now.
That being said, this might be one of the better examples of it, if only because it starts to develop into something else soon after. Where other manga of this genre might focus on mc getting his harem of girls he saves while his old party gets stuffed, this one is mostly mc moving on, joining another reputable guild, and some conspiracy that is hinted, but not dived into within the translated pages (usually when the Yuusha genre does the conspiracy thing, it's some gross ntr shit, but in this case, doesn't seem to be the case). My only issue with this is that there were 27 chapters, and they only did like one or two arcs, not even delving into the main story. Needless to say, pacing is a bit slow.
All in all, if the average "fired from Yuusha party" manga is a 4, this is like a 6. It's not great, but it's better than what's around it. And I'm giving it a 7, because it's currently rated at the same score as another "leaving hero party" that's worse than it, so I want to bump it up.
It's not particularly good or memorable, but it's not the worst thing either. It avoids some pitfalls but is held back by others.
The worst part is how the story takes the best thing it did and undermines it to the point it loses all possible originality. You see, the MC is actually not as dedicated to his class as others, and to make up for it, becomes focused on casting speed instead of power.
This could have been a great addition to his original class, and been about clever uses of cross-classes. But then the author decides the MC isn't allowed to be forced to make compromises and ham fisted-ly shoves how how Orn's speed casting is secretly the best (secret to only him and his party) down the reader's metaphorical throat.
This series is mediocre on the Character writing, the story and the lore. It's slow paced while also being a slow release and no it's not slice of life so slow = bad here.
Character designs are uninspired and ones you've seen a million times already just within this genre. Character stories that like the MC make no sense from a real world perspective and can only happen to make a plot happen. The world lore just sorta jumps in when needed while not explained and usually forgotten thereafter.
Worst though is the character actions, we see some pretty bad stuff and the MC is just like "Meh" way too often which makes no sense from what we know of him. We learn someone is doing things in the background and the MC gets concrete proof of it and just leaves it be? I feel like later we're totally gonna get the "I know he did much evil but lets forgive him and all is well" trope as per usual.
5/10 cause it's not a complete waste of time to read but it's slipping and this score will degrade as the chapters release at this rate.
