    Nothing does happen. He gets powers and abilities that will mean nothing to you because he has a plethora of others that mean nothing. He gets items that mean nothing to you because he is never in a close enough encounter to make them matter.

    I stopped a while back and then picked it up again recently and will probably stop again. It just isn't good. It is like having an AI generate the story.
