By the time we got back to the present from Guts' backstory I feel like it was just a steady decline from there.  It's unfortunate to say, but every arc was usually worse than the last from that point.

However, what is so disheartening to me, is how much was basically thrown out after Miura's passing.  Like, I thought since the story was turning kind of shitty, the new chapters would try to get something good going.  It is CRAZY that they somehow ruined it FURTHER like WOW
Idk man I just like everything just suddenly disappearing, Casca being taken away, Griffith being fucking intangible (which I GUESS can make sense but MAN), and especially Guts fucking like just FALLING from grace like, maybe it's just me, but I would think he'd go into a blind rage or something

lol, one only needs to change their angle of reading it and it does end up becoming a horryfying read hahaha

Thinking a little about it... what if Zora has not only a HUGE stock of opium but her followers already caught on to Yamato Mori's strategy and will bait them into a trap? The current stalemate is because Zora is horrifyingly powerful but her active time is low, but we saw the cost of their last fight even with that handicap.

Yamato Mori does have a lot of firepower equal to the Tower choujin, Zora is the key point, that is why the poppy field operation happened, but... it isn't exactly difficult to work a counter strategy if you know your enemy is monitoring you and how it is done.
