I just realize the sentence "When someone else makes you a bento, you won't know what's inside until you open it up." is kinda reminiscence of the Forrest Gump sentence "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get."
Okay so, it's been almost 24 hours and I have a lot of thoughts as to why I'm upset. But in order to keep from giving spoilers I'll be vague. So... something huge, a plot point that was so big and important that it was the big cliffhanger for two separate volumes was dropped with essentially a shrug from the author when she was tired of using it. And it felt both lazy and like she used the readers emotions to drag them along and then just decided she didn't want to continue on with what it would bring to the story and dropped it. Plus, it's a bit of a trigger for some people, so the nonchalant way it was used felt like an additional slap in the face.
Ichika is about to show that "government monopolized violence" firsthand to the little masochist here and... if, IF, Ichika doesn't kill her... maybe we have a new fighter for Valkyria.
