I think her going down because of a single scratch is a pretty good twist tbh. She's been pictured as this strong woman who would never lose to anyone but because of one careless mistake, she ended up almost dying. It gives this feeling of the MC being strong but not to the point that she's invincible. This event flows pretty good into the next chapter too since we got a peek of how much more of a badass our MC is. Personally, I think it would've been boring if she just handled that assassin and took the medicine the normal way to get the poison immunity so I'm pretty satisfied with this.
