if you think the romance build up in skip beat is slooooow then i don't recommend this one; the build up here is even slower with a lot less ship-tease.
the teacher (as in the title character, not the protagonist) is barely even present in the latest volumes and when he is there its a couple panels here and there with him mostly used as filler.
the whole bet plot-line has lost focus and as a result there's no real sense of urgency to the newer chapters. hopefully the magnaka will eventually stop with the slice-of-life stuff and get on with the actual story sometime soon.
that being said, if your reading it more as a strait up comedy then it has some great laugh out loud moments, especially in the beginning. i love usa-chan man.
not going to rate this yet since its an ongoing series and who knows, it could end up being spectacular.
right now i give it about a 7/10
This is pretty enjoyable in a light entertainment sort of way, I'd strongly recommend picking up the official translations because the scanlations after volume four are more or less unreadable
The art: LOVE IT! The plot: SUPER UNIQUE, LOVE IT!! The characters: SUPER DUPER LOVE IT!!
EVERYTHING JUST SEEMS SO PERFECT!! But sometimes i feel it turns into a Shounen manga but it's because of the lead characters but i super love it!! Every time i read this manga, i always have a smile on my face because of the plot and how funny the characters are. I just wish it will have an anime!
Romance.. mmm... SEE FOR YOURSELF!!
Super love the action, humor and everything!!
I started reading this when I read someone reviewed this so highly, with its laugh meter noted to be high. However, I rather found this just so-so to my disappointment. The art is pretty much average though with its shoujo-nish, the male protagonist did stood out.
I read Yanki-kun to Megane-chan (which was even published 2 years earlier) so this manga is low by par in art, tone/atmosphere, story, laugh meter and originality. Even though it's generally shounen, I'd recommend Yanki-kun to Megane-chan. You'll genuinely laugh within the 15 vols. No problem also in romance area, you'll definitely see it when you read it just like in this manga.
Oh god, this is soo hilarious. For Comedy, I would give this manga a 12/10. Its just sooo hilarious. Probably the most comedic manga I've read so far. It has a bunch of interesting characters as well. You think they'd act or be a certain way, but the way they actually turn out to be is just soo hilarious.
Okay, yes it has slow romance, but you know what, its a lot more realistic this way. I mean come on, someone with her personality and who thinks the way she does, there's no way that the first thing that she would think about is love. So it has to be slow, that's just who she is and its this kind of mindset that Mafuyu has, that makes the giant number of guys in the story a positive thing.
Usually I hate harems, because its just too unrealistic. But I like everyone who's around her, they aren't drop dead perfect, they are all somewhat average, except that they all have street smarts.
Mayfuyu too, as a lead character, she is impressive, I love her secret identies, they are both so adorable and Mafuyu is also very smart herself. She can pin point things if she's given a guidance and can read atmospheres really well.
Its a definitely worthy read!! if you guys liked this, a really close similarity would be Matsuri Special. Just like this one, the girls also incredibly strong and doesn't want anyone around her to know, so she dons a mask as well.
YES it is definitely a must read. Unique, outstanding and the plot is not so cliche either. You could feel how strong the Mangaka's overflowing sense of humor in the manga. However, there is one problem... It lacks of love. It is a shoujo but you should not get your hopes up too high because this manga consists of 90% of fighting, and the rest is all comedy.
But screw that! This manga is unlike any other manga you have ever read. The heroine's reactions and responds towards complications are rarely seen done by other heroines of typical shoujo manga.
I can't wait to see the conclusion of this manga.
This is one of my favorite mangas right now.
This is super duper funny. I cannot begin to describe it's funniness.
The art is good, the story and panels flow and the humour, is good.
The main girl is kind of stupid, naive, maybe but she's got street smarts and is pretty strong.
If you're sick of reading mangas with weeping, useless girls then oresama teacher is right for you!
admittedly the first time i read the plot i was hesitant about the whole potential teacher/student relationship. however, so far it this has not bothered me a single bit. perhaps mainly despite being a shojo, it has very slow development in the romance department. (And also there's a little backstory to how mafuyu and takomi knows each other)
The pacing of the development of the story does get a bit slow sometimes but i feel like the manga-ka is just taking her time and enjoying herself and not wanting to rush the story. afterall, there's nothing anyone hates more than a rushed ending so i'm actually ok with the slow development of the main underlying arc right now.
The first volume or exactly first few volumes, I was taken by storm with Oresama Teacher! I was totally blew away by its humours and unique and non-cliche storyline and characters and was really really into the teacher-student relationship (I don't know why but I like weird relationships like teacher-student, relatives that turns out not related by blood or anything (this must be consider though because most of the time, it's just bad), older people with younger people). However...
It began to slow down starting from the volume which Takaomi explained his reasons for being at Mafuyu's high school. Taking the Student Council (Gosh I'm in one ><) down was really snailly and complicated, sometimes some situations felt like unneeded like those moments in most animes (sorry, I'm not a huge anime fan, in fact I has never been an anime fan even). And that just got me disinterested for some tiny bits.
The most emotionally developed in term of realising their feelings for Mafuyu are probably the Banchou and Kenkawa. Best one is the Banchou besides the fact he knows the guy version man I suddenly forget his name, oh Natsuo of Mafuyu. However I don't mind the overwhelming guts of Kenkawa either. Hayasaka is just really into Usa-chan Man. Another one I think is already there with other harem characters is Ayaben but well, maybe he doesn't notice it. Or maybe, he's just totally in it for Mafuyu because she can't keep her cleanliness act together and somewhat reminds him of his old days at home. But I like Ayaben 😀
I hope that the author won't let the scenario of CHOOSING NON BUT BEING FRIEND WITH ALL OF THE BOYS happens. That would suck! It kills me with Yankee-kun to Megane-chan already so... Damn him if he does the act of a copy-cat! ><
I do love this so so so much! It is hilarious and refreshing. The events are just crazy and the heroine is just so lovable.
As other reviewers have said, it does lack a bit in the romance department although the harem is pretty much building in number, the comedy is certainly front and center and will keep you entertained.
This could have been a ten but...
The aforementioned was pretty much the reason why I stopped reading this for a while because, although I like who she is most likely to end up with, I don't like him for her. I'd prefer their relationship to remain platonic.
Still, awesome read! Recommended to those who love heroines with spunk!(wth?who uses that word?)
Edit: Sorry. I'm just really biased because I am so in love with Okegawa!! Aaaagh! I love Hayasaka and the other guys but Banchou just melts my heart aaand panties(TMI!hahaha!)
The harem(so far):
i love the humour! i love the characters, they are so funny that i can't stop but read more and more, what i think is lacking is the development of relationship between the characters. we don't even know what hayasaka's first name is. i'll give 10 if only the author would explore the relationship (romance) more. i wonder who will mafuyu end up with, takaomi, hayasaka, okegawa, or kenkawa? lol.
I found this manga at times.. when I was bored and had nothing else to do - guess what? this manga brings sweet jokes yet I love the art. Simply neat yet soft - contrast to the theme of this manga. I can't say that it's fully a shoujo one. But definitely, a good read recommendated 🙂
this manga is crazy~ don't read this manga in public >//<
when i reading this manga at the bus, i was laughed so loud, and everyone was staring at me lol
so far is just so awesome, but i need more romance!! it's shoujo manga! 😀
