Nanoka stumbles through a portal into the Taisho era, where she is rescued from a terrifying yokai by Mao, an initially unwilling exorcist. Upon returning to her own time, she discovers she has gained extraordinary powers. Motivated by a desire to understand these new abilities, she travels back to the past. There, she becomes involved in Mao's investigation of a series of gruesome murders. As she delves deeper into the mystery of her own nature, Nanoka learns that both Mao and his sword are cursed by a demonic cat named Byoki. The curse ensures that anyone other than Mao who wields the sword will face a dire consequence. However, when Mao's life is in peril, Nanoka grabs his blade and swings it without hesitation.
Rumiko Takashi does best when she’s doing comedy this is a semi carbon copy of Inuyasha and isn’t interesting or engaging
If you liked Inuyasha you might enjoy this, I’m inclined to believe this was written with an anime adaptation in mind since all the action scenes lack pizazz
I admit her art style is very retro even after all the years so I can't really judge too much.
The setting is very plain and MC is able to fight which is always nice. So far nothing grabs me by the intro other than I hope it won't be 40+ vol.
