Publication used to and some still do publish monthly. They need a chapter a month. Author gives them 1/3 because that's what they made in a month. It's just a chapter every 3 months with extra steps. Also more consistent uploads keep reader engagement and this is the half asses solution to do so. Also you need a team of 4 or people or an insane person for weekly jump style 22 page manga, monthly can be done alone, and every 3 months might me they are working on this as a secondary form of income especially for novel adaptations.

The kid isn't strong at all but he is a complete badass. His personality flaws have an impact and he can recognize them. Psychological issues that promise a crazy story. Has op waifu. Fighting to the death to return to his imouto.
Uses his skills more strategically than brute force. No bullshit skills like "Slide" or "Sword Mastery" which prevents a clusterfuck of skills which should be learned and not just granted. Magic is much more flexible than typical fantasy stories. Obviously going to do a Dimensional Slash attack sooner or later. The clusterfuck of titles is gonna bug me if they show it though. Redundant titles are almost as annoying as trash skills. This story doesn't have the latter though.
No major story conflict yet. Just dealing with getting stronger and not dying. No deus ex machina ass pulling miracle so far either.
