This comment made me hesitate to read this but I'm glad I picked it up in the end. After 13 chapters, I'm definitely waiting for more

They are stitched together in the volume release as one single chapter, that's because Ishida storyboards an entire volume before he starts to draw the chapters. So the reason for the chapter split is because he said he wants to experiment and temporarily keep up a weekly schedule.

Goddamn loved this manga. Instead of straight adapting any of the Front Mission games, it uses the setting of Front Mission the First to tell a brutal, bloody, gritty, and dark wartime manga in the near future of 2090 where Two superpower nations fight over Huffman Island for its territory.

The story is told from different points of views in 8 different story arcs, from news reporters getting caught when war breaks out, a group of mercenaries in a suicide mission, a sole survivor trying to make his way back, all tied together with a mysterious seemingly supernatural presence overseeing, witnessing, or even directly manipulating all these events.

The best comparison I could say is this is the sci-fi manga counterpart to that famous American novel, The Blood Meridian. If you loved that you’ll love this. I loved how it told the story and the gritty yet clear arc perfectly complemented it.
