it's has a plot now........and developing to become a more complicated one...i just hope it's going to on a right track.
Anyway, the thing that annoyed me the most is the age....come on.......ten only is too unrealistic....at least be fifteen.........at the age of ten.......there's no way they can act so mature......
It's sweet to watch to the love story growing btw the characters.....but everytime when i remember they are only "ten"........i am like..."uh........!"
Come on, i still watching Disney when i was ten or playing Barbie........it's too young to fall in love..............
its a nice manga kind of draggy in my opinion since there little kids and there experience like MAJOR dramas and such i really liked the plot but the love triangle was too much for me i can't stand that they were so young and had such adult-ish love =_= i kept reading till like chapter 60 hoping that Tachibana would fast forward time to like 5-8 years but eventually i realized that wouldn't happened and i stopped reading it =T
I thought this was a good manga, but apparently I was wrong. The only thing that made this manga unique is the concept of the ALICE and HOTARU. Aside from that, everything is a rip-off from every shoujo/magical/romance manga out there. I am aware that this manga contains dark themes and such; however, that does not make a good manga. In my perspective, the plot is quite poorly executed. And the love!triangle is like WTF.
It WAS a really good manga. However, Tachibana screwed it off. D:
I must say that the series is really enjoyable although this is based on all of i believe 19 chapters that i am able to read because there is a major gap in scantlated chapters. But from what ive read its one of my favorites and if you dont mind skipping chapters then i recommend reading this
At first, it looked like a kiddy manga...what with all the 11-year-olds.
But actually, the storyline is very mature and the arcs are often dark.
This makes for an interesting reading.
The romance and relationships are so complex that, many times, I feel like I'm reading an adult manga. There's jealousy, rivalry, displaced families, friendship problems, sweet romances, heartbreaking tragedies, and a whole range of other themes. You definitely won't be bored.
very cute the characters are all likeable.
although the main heorine's (Mikan) personality gets on my nerves a bit the other character makes up for it.
there's a lot of mystery and unsolved questions that makes you want to keep reading.
some parts are pretty sad but there's also humor in it.
my favorite character would have to be mikan's friend (forgot her name..sry) her personality's awesome, her inventions are cool and funny, she's caring but also cold.
the different alices are really cool, and the art is really cute.
awesome manga!
This manga very interesting.I like the characters!!! especially Natsume,he's very handsome and cute... ^^ n tSubasa!! he's very cool I love him so much.... By the way, there is season 2 lOo....
To me this is just a kodomo manga with typical characters.Boring.
Well actually it could be better a lot if the mangaka didnt add that stupid and common love triangle thing,i dropped it after realizing both luca and natsume liked mikan.Even kids cant escaped from that eh ? poor them lol
ah, the moment I started reading this story I was facinated! I love the details the hilarious and heartbreaking moments in this manga. The characters are awesome especially Hotaru but ofcourse you got to love Natsume, Mikan, Bear, Narumi, Ruka(especially around animal's)Permy and Mindreader!!
Every chapter is special!! I cant wait for the next release. Im so excited for what will hapen next. Even if Mikan is your stereotype heroin, she isnt in the least bit cliche. She is funny and heartwarming! Natsume is simply awesome, his whole personality is great.
Hotaru must be my favorite character she is so cold and at the same time so hilarious(especially her inventions and moneylove XD). The art style is really beautifull. And the story is so detailed you just can tell that the autor loves those small details in a plot and in a drawing.
At first glance it may seem a childish story mainly because of the age of the maincharacter, but in reallity its quite a heavy story, very dramatic and complicated.
This manga really is one of the best Shoujo's ever. I will probably read it again and again untill every single scene is imprinted in my memory forever.
I didn't lay hands on Gakuen Alice till until a week ago. I was surprised that many people took to doing the scans and now there were chapters till 128 because the last time I checked, there were erratic scans with random chapters done and the rest in the middle missing! I was beyond happy and as always, I read the entire series all over again.
I have to say, Tachibana-san does an incredible job of incorporating every little thing that one would expect from a manga - there's mystery, there's drama, romance, there is comedy and all I have to say is that she doesn't disappoint on any fronts. There are some classic comedy scenes (I love all the expressions most characters have – especially Natsume’s shifty eyes) which set the tone in the beginning of the manga but there is a lot of mystery surrounding all characters - Natsume, Narumi, and hell, Mikan herself. While Natsume's past was not disappointing at all and one could understand how he came to be this way; it is Mikan's past which blew me away. Tachibana-san does NOT leave me dissatisfied with it because I found the whole thing compelling and the implications and the slight mysteries in the beginning of the manga are resolved.
The characters are fascinating all with their unique quirks and alices and carry the plot forward gracefully. My personal favorites are Natsume (duh, who won't like him?), Hotaru and Tsubasa ( 😀 ). I believe some people might be put off by the fact that the protagonists are all 10-11 years old but now I could care less. I’ll admit there are some shocking things which occur in the beginning which made me question the plot and I was left asking, “And that’s a 10-year old 😕 ?”. But as the plot goes on further, I took it in my stride and now I think I wouldn’t have wanted them to be teenagers (because then I doubt Mikan would’ve been that prudish...that’s what makes most of her interactions with Natsume hilarious).
The art is above average and sometimes you can't tell (I read from some pretty blurry scans but I was so addicted to and was clamouring to know what happens next, I could care less). In my humble opinion the story went on to get so good, I didn't care about the scans...as long as the text was visible and we could make out the characters.
All in all, after reading the whole thing again, I cannot retract my rating of 10 because in my opinion it deserves it. After all, 129 chapters later, the plot is still fresh (and probably in its last leg... 🙁 ) and it doesn't go downhill like all manga I've been reading (Bleach and Air Gear...I don't need to elaborate any further). The manga is not overrated and is great for anyone who enjoys good manga
I really love this series! The art is just great and the story line is just surprising? I don't know, but when you're reading it, it somehow makes you want to read more and more.. Though, it's a bit sad how some chapters haven't been scanlated yet. >__<
This is exactly the type of mangas I like! The whole hidden power and dark secrets... it gets me so excited 🙂 Although the chapters are all screwed and the anime isn't as entertaining, it's a perfect 10!
Update:
Finally finished it, obviously my opinion of it has changed. 8p The secrets got TOO dark and TOO confusing. I was struggling to keep up with peoples names and their fates majority of the time.
I am NOT looking forward to a sequel. I was kinda hoping this would get a bitter sweet ending and Mikan and Natsume could finally be together. I mean, it's sad that Hotaru and her brother were lost... but she literally sacrificed herself for her friend.
I feel like a sequel is really crapping on that sacrifice. But ok... I doubt I'll be reading the sequel.
