Personally, I always thought Deku was going to end the story the same way he started, quirkless with his knack for quirk analysis. He ofa but could not control it, Horikoshi used percentages to show his progress, y'all just assumed that the end of the story would coincide with him having control using ofa at 100%.

However, Deku does end up as a hero, revered as a legend that put the end of afo with the help of comrades but now as the archetype of the unsung hero.

???? The storyline its self is quite good, so people just want to read more and enjoy it, that is all. We don't expect him to be like some isekai heroes.
