Lina Inverse, a wandering sorceress known for hunting bandits, teams up with the roving swordsman Gourry Gabriev in what is intended to be a brief alliance of convenience.

This manga serves as the primary adaptation of the Slayers novels, covering volumes 1 through 8. The fourth volume of the manga is based on the Slayers Return movie.

Choubaku Madouden Slayers was released in English under the title Slayers: Super Explosive Demon Story by Central Park Media from July 9, 2002, to March 9, 2005. It was also published in Polish by J.P.Fantastica.

    I kinda prefer it this way. It adds to the comedic value. And it adds to the fact that her strength comes less from physical strength and more from mastery of the techniques. Plus, if we saw her as buff straight from the start, it kinda would've ruined the surprise later at the end of the first chapter when she beat the crap out of the thugs.
