Utena Tenjou arrives at Ohtori Academy, only to find herself quickly embroiled in a series of duels for the hand of her classmate Anthy Himemiya and the mysterious power she is said to possess. Simultaneously, Utena encounters Touga Kiryuu, a childhood friend who appears to be privy to the secrets behind these duels.

Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Adolescence Mokushiroku was released in English as Revolutionary Girl Utena: The Adolescence of Utena by VIZ Media on November 16, 2004. Additionally, it was published in Brazilian Portuguese by Editora JBC in two volumes, with the first volume released in March 2009 and the second in April 2009.
