Ageha Yoshina is a self-confident high school student who offers assistance to others for a fee. After completing a job, he discovers an unusual calling card with the word "Psyren" imprinted on it inside a phone booth and decides to keep it, unaware of its significance. The next day, Ageha finds out that his classmate Sakurako Amamiya also possesses an identical calling card. When questioned, Sakurako asks him to save her, marking the start of his troubles. Perplexed by this encounter, Ageha becomes concerned when Sakurako goes missing. Determined to understand what's happening, he calls the number on the card and hears a series of questions from a mysterious voice. The final question is cryptic: "Would you like to go to Psyren?" This marks the beginning of two teenagers' involvement in a life-or-death game within a bizarre world filled with monsters known as "Taboo." Equipped with psychic powers called "PSI," the duo battles to find their way back home. "Psyren" was published in English by VIZ Media under the Shonen Jump imprint from October 4, 2011, to May 6, 2014.
