This manga isn't very popular, and I completely understand why. If you stumble upon this manga by chance or if it's recommended to you by MAL (as it was for me), don't waste your time—read something else. Anything else. Here is my review:
Story - 3
There really isn't much of a story beyond what the MAL synopsis provides. And yes, I know it's short, but I've read even shorter stories that had some substance. This manga doesn't have any. A girl meets a hot wolf guy and sleeps with him. In the remaining three chapters, they take turns being jealous of each other. That's it.
Believe it or not, the one-shot is even worse. A pathetic girl with no self-esteem clings to a boring vampire.
Art - 5
I'm no expert on art (and I'm not an expert on anything else either, but hey), but it was okay for a manga from around the 2000s, I suppose. It's not really my style, but okay, I guess.
Characters - 3
Just awful. The main girl is a blank slate with no personality, whose only role is to be a damsel in distress. The wolf guy is borderline forcing her into sleeping with him because she is too weak to resist. In the one-shot, the girl has no self-esteem and is overall very pathetic. The vampire is boring.
Side characters are insignificant and all look the same.
Enjoyment - 4
I've read worse things, but not by much. I suppose it's better than working (which is the only reason I actually finished it).
Overall - 4
Why does this thing have sequels?
Anyway, I would recommend finding something better to read than this.
This is the funniest thing I've read all year, I think. A supernatural comedy that's odd but charming. It’s 100% original.
The story is excellent, not just because it's shocking and unexpected, but also well-crafted to keep the reader hooked with just four chapters! For me, it's even funnier since I'm a dog lover, and people sometimes tell me I’m too dedicated to my dog. The mangaka makes fun of very ordinary situations and, what's more, typical romance plot lines.
The fifth chapter is about a vampire, presenting these merchandised creatures from a new perspective. What would you do if a vampire told you that you're not good enough to be a blood donor? Would you be disappointed? As I said, it's funny.
The art is simply good, especially the pervy wolf who ends up being disappointed in some aspects every time. The facial expressions of the dog-wolf are amazing! Making chibi wolf faces must have been quite entertaining for the mangaka. However, other elements aren't as well-designed.
The characters are classic for the genre, yet they’re not exactly as you’d expect them to be. Unfortunately, we can’t understand much about the supernatural universe: what kinds exist there, their abilities, social structure, etc. There's nothing useless mentioned about the main protagonist's past. They just love each other, and... welcome to the next volume! (Sort of) The female protagonist is plain, maybe she’s here just for the sake of the wolf-boy.
The enjoyment factor is high, making it hard to hide laughter (it’s nighttime after all). Although it's not a children’s story, with much sex subtly hinted at, there's nothing smutty or ecchi here, so I don't get bored.
The overall rating is an 8, which is "very good," because I even shared some particularly humorous and well-executed pages with my precious dog-owner friend who doesn’t like manga at all.
