    @Panurge thanks.  I'm afraid I'm well ahead on chapters because I'm such a Midnight Diner fanboy (to an extent I bought all the available tankobon).

    I don't think any other manga portraits marginal Japanese lives like Shinya Shokudou.  I'm a fan of authors like Hemingway, Steinbeck, Ishiguro... Shinya Shokudou has this dignity after defeat, that "life goes on" very few people can capture if not very grounded on realism.

    The dorama adaptation is also very good.
