It would be hella crazy if (and this is a theory):
- Every time she gives birth to a child, the child doesn't survive due to the composition of the devils, where their young bodies cannot handle the massive amount of magic. As a consequence, when the child dies, she gains experience/magic from that child.
Its dark because all she wants is a healthy baby of her own but it never happens and she probably feels like her new found strength is the result of her robbing her children of their lives and not being able to start a family with the man she loves.
It would explain why she and Strom are in despair... there is literally no future for the devils because they can only turn things into devils and not outright propagate.
Again, this is just a theory I had about all this ...
