Gosick

At first I was pissed about what seemed to be, an abrupt ending to the series. But with this chapter.. things have changed. There shouldn't be a need for an over the top dramatic, someone dies, -- type of ending. I am okay with a soft, kind hearted, open end to this series. The first 3 volumes were sweet and a very nice SOL. That's just what the series has always been about. I'll still look forward to Koto's next work but man... I am already getting nostalgic for this series before it even ended. Heart strings have been tugged.

That was a painfully slow burn, but a delightfully satisfying ending. I find it absolutely hilarious that, when you break it down, the pov character is a secondary character's nameless wife. And she acts exactly like that. Seriously, imagine his summary: "The most powerful wizard in the kingdom, elected to join the hero's party to defeat the dark lord. He is cold and ruthless to both friend and foe, but secretly has a love waiting for him to come home." She's literally just a plot device.
