Initially close, their relationship soured after their father's death. Seles's mother attempted to kill Zelos to make Seles the Chosen of Mana. On a snowy day, she attacked Zelos and Mylene, who died protecting him, uttering, "You should never have been born." This incident left Zelos traumatized, developing a dislike for snow and feeling responsible for his mother's death.
