Tambourine is Piccolo Daimao's second son, a humanoid gargoyle-like Namekian. Another offspring who looks exactly like Tambourine appeared earlier in Master Roshi's flashback, showing him terrorizing humans alongside other offspring. However, this couldn't logically be Tambourine unless Piccolo Daimao can somehow recycle his offspring. Tambourine's mission was to hunt down and assassinate all contenders from the recent World Martial Arts Tournaments, dating back ten years, to ensure Piccolo Daimao's hostile takeover went smoothly. He was also instructed to collect any Dragon Balls he encountered.
Tambourine killed Kuririn by chance, along with other past tournament participants such as Man Wolf, King Chapa, Panput, Bacterian, and Giran. He also savagely beat up Goku, who was enraged by Kuririn's murder. Tambourine destroyed the Kinto'un using his mouth beam technique, but Goku later received a new one from Karin.
Goku ultimately vaporized Tambourine with a Kamehameha. Tambourine made a cameo appearance in Dragon Ball GT as one of the villains who escaped from Hell. Like the others, he was eventually sent back to Hell.
