Tamama is a private second class in the Keroro Platoon, the newest and youngest member of the planetary invasion troop. His name originates from the Japanese word "otamajakushi," meaning tadpole. Although his exact age is unknown, voice actress Etsuko Kozakura has mentioned that she portrays Tamama as if he were 19 years old. He is fiercely loyal to Keroro.
Tamama exhibits mood swings that can verge on split personality, similar to his partner Momoka Nishizawa. Typically gentle and cheerful, he can quickly transform into a vengeful, raving maniac, often accompanied by the sound of a balloon popping. This tendency makes him unpredictable.
He frequently experiences fits of jealousy, particularly towards anyone who gets close to Keroro, especially Angol Mois, whom he refers to as "that woman." Tamama's love for junk food, especially candy, cake, cola, and potato chips, is well-known. He also enjoys physical training and has a private training room in the Nishizawa Mansion.
In the anime, Tamama is diagnosed with high blood sugar due to his excessive consumption of sweets, as revealed during a physical checkup. His least favorite sound is nails scratching on a chalkboard. Despite his strong dislike for Angol Mois, calling her "that woman" out of rivalry for Keroro's attention, Mois remains blissfully unaware of his animosity towards her.
