Keroro is the main protagonist of the series and serves as the sergeant and leader of the Keroro Platoon. He introduces himself as "The Gamma Planetary System, the 58th Planet, Space Invasion Army Special Tactics Platoon Leader, Sergeant Keroro."

Initially, Keroro hid in the Hinata household until he was discovered by Natsumi and Fuyuki. After his capture, his weapon, the Kero Ball, was taken away, and his army abandoned him, leading to his easy surrender. Originally a prisoner of war, Keroro became a freeloader in the Hinata household, often causing trouble for them. Whenever he does something wrong, Natsumi physically disciplines him.

Over time, Keroro has adapted to living an adventurous life on Earth as the housekeeper of the Hinata family. His favorite foods include fried potatoes, dango, carambolas, and caviar. In his free time, he enjoys building Gunpla models and reading manga.
