Spitfire, known in Japanese as Supitto Faia, was the Flame King and one of the last two original members of the Sleeping Forest retaining their titles at the start of the story. He first appears when Ikki accidentally stumbles into a secret meeting of AT riders. Initially, Spitfire asserts that Ikki, being merely an 'F' class rider, would have only a 1% chance of defeating Buccha, but he is taken aback by the outcome. In the anime, Spitfire is introduced in the first episode after witnessing the leader of the Skullsaders challenge Ikki to a battle. He oversees three teams with 41, 68, and 86 members and works as a highly sought-after hair stylist in his daily life. His speed generates the illusion of flames due to the friction heat from his wheels on the ground.
In recent chapters, Spitfire faces off against Sora in an AT battle. During the fight, Sano joins in, saving Spitfire, and together they challenge Nike. It is revealed that Spitfire can also stop time, similar to Sano's ability. He claims that while Nike is the strongest member of Genesis, he cannot break the flames of time. As the fight progresses, Spitfire concludes they cannot win. At his request, Sano gives Spitfire enough time to grab Kazu and flee, forcefully passing the Flame Regalia to him. Shortly after returning to the battle, both Spitfire and Sano are killed by Sora and Nike.
Before his death, Spitfire foresaw this outcome and left a video explaining the true intentions of Genesis. After watching Kogarasumaru's fight with Behemoth, he was reminded that what he truly wanted was to fly freely in the sky. Spitfire also predicted that Ikki would "lose his wings" due to Sora's betrayal, and part of the reason for the video was to bring Ikki back to the AT world. At the end of the message, Spitfire expressed mild concern that his plan might not work.
Spitfire (and the Flame Road in general) seems to be characterized by a flaming fox with nine tails, referencing the Kitsune from Japanese mythology. In the English dub, he has a Cockney accent.
Despite his death, Spitfire continues to assist Kogarasumaru through the video he left behind, which helps train them for the Gram Scale tournament. The video's accurate predictions about individual members of Kogarasumaru lead the team to question whether Spitfire is truly dead.
