Rhydon is a large, gray, bipedal Pokémon that bears resemblance to both dinosaurs and rhinoceroses. It possesses narrow, red eyes and two fangs protruding from its upper jaw. At the tip of Rhydon's snout is a cream-colored horn, which is smaller on females compared to males. The head features several spikes and projections: a forward-curving spike on top, two triangular points resembling ears on the sides, wide wavy crests beneath each ear, and spiky ridges on each cheek. Its abdomen is cream-colored and divided into strips by thin grooves. A rocky plate on its chest slightly overlaps its abdomen. There is a row of spikes down its back, and it has a long tail with thin, black stripes.
Rhydon is renowned for its immense physical strength. It can reportedly topple buildings with a single swipe of its tail, and its horn is capable of piercing solid rock and shattering diamonds. Rhydon sharpens its horns by clashing them together. Its armor-like hide provides protection against heat and physical attacks. It is said to be able to pass through streams of magma (3,600 degrees Fahrenheit) unscathed and withstand direct cannon fire without harm. However, this tough hide makes it somewhat insensitive. Despite having a well-developed brain, it can be forgetful at times. Rhydon inhabits rough terrains such as caves or mountain tops. Evolving to walk on two legs allows Rhydon to expand its territory beyond the limits of a Ryhorn's original habitat.
Evolution
Rhydon evolves from Rhyhorn and further evolves into Rhyperior.
