Once an overweight and unattractive girl defended by Eikichi, Shinomi reemerges as a stunning young woman involved with Takezawa Akira from the Idaten gang. Following Takezawa's hospitalization after a fight with Eikichi and their subsequent breakup, she dyes her hair blonde and joins Eikichi's Onibaku circle of friends. Throughout the series, she harbors feelings for Eikichi, but he views her more like a sister, making him hesitant to pursue a romantic relationship. She becomes close friends with Nagisa and is often seen spending time with her. Shinomi is spirited and can deliver a powerful punch, embodying a female version of Eikichi, which makes them well-suited in personality. In GTO, she appears as Tomoko's makeup artist and seems to uncover the identity of Tomoko and Mayu's teacher by the end of the series. Later, she reappears in GTO: Shonan 14 Days as the second caretaker at White Swan.
