Ruru is a young girl who resides with the Sendai Aka no Ou. She frequently corrects his mistakes, sometimes even pushing his head against a pillar in frustration. She enjoys playing with her toys using her left hand, making her one of the few left-handed characters in the series. Ruru also serves as an informant, bringing important information to Fubuki and Hishigi. She is one of the two successful Rare Breeds created by Hishigi, with her brother Sasuke being the other. Hishigi warns that Sasuke will eventually destroy his laboratory. By the end of the manga, it is revealed that the Sendai Aka no Ou keeps Ruru close because she possesses the antibody to the deadly diseases threatening the Mibu people, offering hope for their survival.
