This is ironic given that ZAFT is predominantly composed of Coordinators and Chairman Zala advocates for the extermination of Naturals. However, Rau's exceptional skills and spatial awareness allow him to pass as a Coordinator.
Despite his position within ZAFT, Rau shows no loyalty to the organization or any individual. His ultimate goal is to end humanity, which he views as a world driven by endless desires. He aims to achieve this through the nuclear arsenal of the Earth Forces and GENESIS, ZAFT's superweapon. Rau believes he is the most qualified to judge and execute humanity's fate and appears to hold no value for human life, including his own.
He is an exceptionally skilled pilot, capable of handling any mobile suit or Gundam with ease. Additionally, he is a strategic mastermind who meticulously plans long-term operations aimed at achieving his vision of peace over extended periods, successfully executing these plans.
