Hades is the leader of the Grimoire Heart Dark Guild, whose primary objective is to unseal Zeref. He appears as a calm and confident individual, showing no fear towards his enemies, including Makarov. According to Makarov, Hades was once described as a "great Master who taught harmony and guided the Guild onto the right path."
Known as Precht in the past, he became the second Master of Fairy Tail after Mavis Vermilion. In Year X736, Precht chose Makarov, who was 40 years old at the time, to be the third Master and his successor, much to Makarov's reluctance. Despite Makarov's doubts about his own suitability for the role, Precht praised Makarov's love for his comrades and his ability to believe, asserting that he would make Fairy Tail a good Guild. Afterward, Precht embarked on a journey.
During this journey, he traced the origins of Magic back to Zeref, where he discovered what could be termed the "Essence of Magic." It was around this period that he likely changed his ways and transformed into a Dark Mage, subsequently founding Grimoire Heart.
Ultimately, he was killed by Zeref.
