Pidgeotto is a bird-like Pokémon resembling a raptor. It is covered in brown feathers, with a cream-colored face, underbelly, and flight feathers. Its head features a crest of pinkish-red feathers, while angular black markings are found behind its dark eyes. The tail feathers alternate between red and yellow, with ragged tips. Pidgeotto has a pink beak and legs, with two forward-facing toes and one backward-facing toe. Its sharp talons are powerful tools for grasping prey. Pidgeotto is an exceptional flyer capable of carrying its prey several miles to its nest. With remarkable vision, it can easily spot its preferred prey, such as Exeggcute and Magikarp. In the anime, it has also been shown hunting Caterpie. This Pokémon claims a vast territory spanning over 60 miles (100 kilometers), which it fiercely defends. Its nest is typically located at the center of this territory, and Pidgeotto spends its days circling overhead, searching for food and intruders. It is most commonly found in temperate forests.
