Former General Philip Gargantos Armstrong is the current head of the distinguished Armstrong family. He is the father of Major Alex Louis Armstrong, Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong, and their younger sisters Amue, Strongine, and Kathleen Elle. His wife's name remains unknown.
Philip tends to be long-winded, often regaling anyone within earshot with tales of his family's grandeur and his own illustrious military career. This sense of family pride has clearly been passed down to his son, Alex.
As a former General, Philip demonstrates considerable insight. When Olivier demanded control of the Armstrong estate, he quickly realized that Amestris was no longer safe. Acting swiftly, he took his wife and daughter Kathleen on what he termed an "extended vacation" to Xing.
