Persona is a mysterious teacher who always wears a mask. He serves as the moderator for the Dangerous Ability Class and appears to be the root of many of Natsume's troubles. His Alice is known as the Mark of Death.
In the series, Persona has been seen without his mask on three occasions. The first time was when Natsume spotted him in Central Town, though he was wearing sunglasses at the time. The second instance occurred when he disguised himself as a substitute teacher named Serio during one of Natsume's exams to uncover who was influencing Natsume’s behavior. However, Natsume quickly recognized him. The third time happened when Mikan accidentally knocked off his mask while trying to stop him from harming Natsume during the Hana Princess arc.
Persona once held Natsume's sister captive to ensure Natsume's compliance. He refers to Natsume as his "Best Student." Additionally, Persona bears a Mark of Obedience on his cheek, shaped like a red cross.
In later chapters, Mikan became another victim of Persona's Alice, resulting in a serious illness. It was revealed that Subaru Imai, Hotaru's older brother, had also been a victim but was the only one to survive Persona's Alice. Consequently, Subaru was appointed by the school administration to treat Mikan's illness.
Persona gave Aoi, Natsume's sister, a peculiar stone that could cause an Alice to go out of control. This caused Aoi's Alice to flare up uncontrollably, burning down an entire town. After losing her memories, Persona told Aoi that he would be her new older brother.
When Mikan was hospitalized, Sakurano noticed a strange black-colored stone in her hand. Gradually, all of Mikan's wounds began to heal, and the stone changed color. Sakurano believes this stone is actually an embodiment of Persona's Alice, suggesting Mikan has the ability to draw out someone's Alice into the stone.
It was revealed by Narumi-sensei that Persona's real name is Serio. He knew Mikan's father and may have given him his first Alice-controlling device (the earrings that Mikan destroyed). Persona is a deeply sad and lonely individual who has a fondness for Nobara Ibaragi, whom he refers to as "his doll."
Persona wears multiple Alice control devices, including bracelets, earrings, rings, and more.
