Pantherlily is an Exceed serving as the First Division Commander of the Magic Militia in the Royal Army of Edoras. Known for his grumpy demeanor, he dislikes noisy individuals. His first appearance involves demanding that Byro and the overly energetic Hughes lower their voices. Sugarboy remarks that Pantherlily seems to be in an especially foul mood.
Like all Exceeds, Pantherlily possesses the ability Aera. He wields a massive sword and demonstrates tremendous strength. Alongside Akaoni and Majorina, he commands the Bad End Kingdom. Resembling a panther, he is aptly named "Pantherlily." One of his notable traits is his distinct laugh: "Uruffufu."
At the conclusion of the Edolas arc, Pantherlily, along with other Exceeds, is transported to Earthland. There, he adopts a small 'chibi' form similar to Carla and Happy, becoming Gajeel's cat. This results in each of the three Fairy Tail dragon slayers having their own talking cat companion.
Although Pantherlily spends most of his time in his 'chibi' form, he retains the ability to transform into his humanoid form. However, he avoids doing this frequently as it consumes a significant amount of his magical energy.
