Poliwhirl is a blue, bipedal amphibian Pokémon with a spherical body. Its large, protruding eyes sit atop its head. A distinctive black and white swirl adorns its belly, revealing its organs through its thin skin. This Pokémon appears to wear white gloves on its hands and has rounded feet without toes. When out of water, it secretes sweat to maintain its skin's moisture and health, covering itself in an oily substance that helps it evade predators. Its entire body feels slippery except for the smooth area where the swirl is located. The swirling pattern on its belly moves slowly, and gazing at it can induce sleepiness.
Although Poliwhirl can move on land, it prefers residing in freshwater ponds and lakes where it encounters fewer natural threats. It consumes both bug and fish Pokémon. To catch bug Pokémon, it ventures onto land but returns to the water to eat safely. The swirl on its belly serves to lull children into sleep. Poliwhirl’s sweat contains slimy mucus. If captured by an enemy, it can either wriggle free or use its swirl to put the enemy to sleep.
Evolution
Poliwhirl evolves from Poliwag and can further evolve into either Poliwrath or Politoed.
