Nobu is the guitarist for Blast and attended the same high school as Nana Osaki. He is known for his friendly and optimistic nature, although he sometimes loses track of conversations. Before Nana's "smoking ban," he was the only non-smoker in the band. However, his low tolerance for alcohol often led to him spilling secrets when drunk, including revealing details about Nana and Ren's relationship to Shin. Like Yasushi, Nobu comes from a wealthy family; his parents own an inn. Despite this, he remains deeply passionate about music and shares Osaki's dream of achieving success with their band.
Nobu falls in love with Hachi, and they enjoy a brief but joyful relationship. When Takumi informs Nobu of Hachi's pregnancy, she painfully decides to leave him for Takumi. Although Nobu eventually understands her reasons, he still harbors fears that the child might be his and continues to have feelings for Hachi.
