Muten-Rôshi trained notable fighters such as Grandpa Son Gohan, Ox King, Son Goku, Kuririn, and Yamcha. His home, Kame House, located on a small isolated island, serves as a meeting place for the Z Fighters and their friends. He embodies both the archetypal wise old man and the comical dirty old man, which is typical in shōnen anime. His occasional crankiness adds to the comic relief. He is bald, with a thick goatee and mustache. Muten-Rôshi often wears beach attire or martial arts gear, along with a turtle shell on his back, and usually carries a walking stick. His companions include Oolong, Umigame, and Lunch.
