kobayakawa miyuki

Miyuki is Natsumi's partner and roommate. Miyuki isn't as physically tough as Natsumi, but she surpasses her in intelligence and politeness. A technical genius, Miyuki often carries out custom vehicle modifications for various individuals at the precinct and excels with computers. She is an outstanding driver, nearly as daring as Natsumi, and extremely hard to lose in a chase. Miyuki is punctual, shy, and diligent—in stark contrast to Natsumi, who is often late, brash, and frequently lazy. Her mini patrol car, a Honda City, is heavily modified for patrol duties. Normally, the engine has a 554cc capacity, but Miyuki has enhanced it to 700cc, added twin cams, a turbocharger, and nitrous oxide boost. While such a car could theoretically be built given current technology, it would be impractical at best in reality. Unlike Natsumi's infatuation with the chief (Kachou) of the Traffic Division, Miyuki admires and respects him due to his dedication to working within the division. In situations where force is the only solution, Miyuki uses airsoft guns with paintball bullets to incapacitate or mark opponents with a homing beacon. Her love interest is with the "White Hawk" Ken Nakajima, but she initially struggles to express her feelings until the end of the series. Her feelings for Ken were so strong that she once pointed an air gun at Natsumi's head when Natsumi joked about having to marry Ken in the future. Miyuki fears anything that cannot be explained by science, such as the paranormal, supernatural, or anything akin to science fiction. She is also afraid of reptiles. Her character design served as the template for a goddess whom the characters prayed to in a four-panel gag strip added to a version of YUA, which eventually became Belldandy when the strip gained popularity and was developed into Oh! My Goddess. (Source: Wikipedia)
