Her obsession with dinosaurs, dating back to her childhood, makes it hard for her to form friendships, often leaving her isolated. Misuzu frequently uses the word "Gao," mimicking what she imagines to be the sound of dinosaurs, despite being scolded by her foster mother Haruko for doing so. One day, determined to make a friend, Misuzu invites Yukito over for dinner. Initially disapproving, Haruko eventually warms up to him, and they all become friends. During a card game one night, Misuzu suddenly bursts into tears without any apparent reason. Haruko explains that Misuzu has a condition causing her to cry uncontrollably whenever she gets close to making friends. Despite seeking help from clinics and hospitals, the issue persists, attributed to a mental instability that doctors believe will improve with age. As Misuzu's condition worsens, Yukito learns that she is connected to a childhood tale he heard, revealing her as a descendant of the Winged-Maiden cursed with eternal pain. Misuzu's health deteriorates, leading to her becoming childlike and requiring a wheelchair. Haruko attempts to adopt Misuzu officially but faces an obstacle when Misuzu's biological father arrives to take her away. However, Misuzu refuses to go, calling Haruko "Mama." Despite staying with Haruko, Misuzu's condition does not improve, and she remains in constant pain upon Yukito's return. In the final episode, Misuzu asks everyone to go to the beach together. There, she tries to walk towards Haruko and Yukito, referring to them as "her goal." Tragically, upon reaching them, Misuzu collapses and dies in Haruko's arms, finally breaking the curse on the Winged Maiden.
