Kanna is the initial detachment of Naraku, resembling a ten-year-old girl with white hair and attire. As a "concealed incarnation" of Naraku, Kanna possesses neither scent nor demonic aura, rendering her imperceptible to InuYasha's senses and impervious to effects tied to demonic auras, like the Hakurei-zan barrier. She alone among Naraku's incarnations garners his trust with critical information about his plans, granting her the authority to issue commands on his behalf.
Kanna wields a demonic mirror capable of capturing the souls of those reflected within it. Upon trapping a soul in her mirror, Kanna can manipulate that person’s body to do her will; however, an exceptionally potent soul such as Kagome's can overwhelm the mirror, compelling Kanna to release all captured souls before the glass shatters. The mirror also has the ability to spawn a glass demon mimicking the abilities of whatever it reflects, though Kanna herself endures damage if the glass demon is harmed.
In her final confrontation, Naraku commands Kanna to commit suicide, causing her and her glass demon to disintegrate into countless tiny shards. Motivated by Kanna's last thought, one shard strikes Kagome's right eye, imparting the knowledge needed to destroy Naraku.
