Misaki is Azusa's second wife and the mother of Ayeka and Sasami. She boasts tremendous physical strength and holds the position of supreme commander over Jurai's royal guard. Hailing from the House Kamiki within the Royal Family, her lineage includes her mother Seto Jurai and her adopted sister Noike Kamiki Jurai. Misaki maintains a friendly relationship with Azusa's first wife, Funaho Jurai, affectionately referring to her as "Oneesama" ("older sister"). In episode 19, it was unveiled that Misaki is—or perhaps will evolve into—a god-like entity known to Z as the "counter-actor." This notion was substantiated in Masaki Kajishima's recent doujinshi "Omatsuri Zenjitsu no Yoru," which confirmed this being as the genuine Misaki, not merely an impersonator. During an incident where Misaki nearly strangled Tokimi to death, Tenchi appeared in a radiant form to pacify her. They kissed and subsequently vanished from sight. Prior to this revelation, Kajishima’s novel "Jurai" had prophesied Misaki's future long before her third OVA appearance, predicting that "the galaxy will know the true terror of Misaki" and that "only Tenchi could stop her." Misaki is renowned for enforcing a particular manner of address from her daughters and exhibits an extremely protective nature towards them. In episode 13, Ayeka called out to Misaki using "Okaa-sama!" ("Mommy!" in the dubbed version) in a high-pitched tone, causing Ryoko to find it amusing. However, Ryoko's laughter turned to regret when Misaki, enraged, stretched Ryoko’s face. Ayeka showed no sympathy for Ryoko, having previously warned her against commenting. The only way Ryoko escaped further punishment was by reading a sign written by Sasami, stating, "I'm sorry, pretty young lady." This incident also explains why Ryoko avoided answering the door in episode 14, fearing Misaki's presence, while it was actually Tenchi's sister Tennyo.
