OVA:
Ayeka and her half-brother, Yosho, were originally set to be married. However, everything changed when Ryoko attacked Jurai, prompting Yosho to leave in search of Ryoko, never to return. Years later, while traveling through space with her sister Sasami in search of Yosho, Ayeka detects a strange power emanating from Earth. Upon investigation, she discovers none other than Ryoko herself. Determined to find her half-brother, Ayeka captures Ryoko and the boy with her, Tenchi, and interrogates them. She learns that Tenchi is a descendant of Yosho and that Yosho might be dead. Amidst the ensuing chaos between Ryoko and Ayeka, Ryoko causes both Ryo-U and Ryo-Ohki to crash land, damaging them beyond immediate repair. Now stranded on Earth with her sister, Ayeka must deal with the possibility that Yosho may still be alive.
Universe:
Ayeka is returning to Jurai after attending a wedding meeting on a distant planet when she intercepts a distress signal from Earth. Upon investigating, she finds that the distress call came from First-Class Detective Mihoshi, who was stranded on Earth. To Ayeka's surprise, she also encounters her arch-nemesis, Ryoko. This leads to a fierce battle between Ayeka and Ryoko in space, resulting in the destruction of both their ships and leaving Ayeka stranded on Earth. Her absence from Juraian royal society begins to cause unrest.
Shin-Tenchi (In Tokyo):
Ayeka and Sasami are pursuing Ryoko and Washuu, who have stolen Jurai's power. Determined to recover it, Ayeka forces their ship to crash land on Earth, leading to a foot chase. Ayeka manages to trap Ryoko and Washuu, but in a desperate move, Ryoko uses the stolen Jurai power on herself. Just then, Tenchi arrives and his pendant mysteriously activates, allowing him to incapacitate Ryoko. Ayeka retrieves the Jurai power and decides to stay on Earth due to her growing feelings for Tenchi. As a symbol of friendship, Tenchi gives her one of his crystals. Months later, Tenchi moves to Tokyo for studies, causing tension among the jealous women in their household.
