A physical education teacher at a girls' high school, she is the homeroom teacher for Class 5 during the students' first year and for Class 2 in their final two years. An old high school friend and rival of Yukari, their relationship is playful yet exasperating, filled with mutual teasing. Yukari often insults Nyamo and freeloads off her, but Nyamo can hold her own in these exchanges. "Nyamo" is a nickname from her student days, used by Yukari and Tomo, while other students address her as Kurosawa-sensei.
Similar to Yomi in personality, Nyamo is well-liked by students for being kinder, less obnoxious, and more composed than Yukari. Yukari frequently teases her about her past romantic relationships and refers to her as a "stupid P.E. teacher." During one summer trip, Nyamo gets drunk to prevent Yukari from drinking excessively and ends up giving the girls an embarrassing yet informative talk about relationships, which impresses some and confuses others.
In addition to her homeroom and P.E. teaching duties, Nyamo coaches the women's swim team, earning the title of "Coach" and high respect from Kagura. Students often turn to her for advice, much to Yukari's envy, who resents Nyamo's better discipline and organization. Unlike Yukari, Nyamo manages to maintain her own apartment and drives a blue Toyota Vitz. She is particularly sensitive about her love life, providing Yukari with endless material for teasing, including a mysterious "love letter" from high school. Despite this, Nyamo remains dedicated to teaching and once turned down a job offer that would have offered her more income and prestige.
