Koyomi Mizuhara, commonly known as Yomi, is a grade-school friend and the complete opposite of Tomo. She is the most mature and serious character in the series, often acting as the voice of reason. Despite being intelligent and athletic, Yomi constantly struggles with her self-image due to her weight and frequently tries different diets to lose weight. However, she often gives in to her favorite foods and finds it difficult to stick to her diet plans. Another notable weakness of Yomi's is her poor singing ability, despite karaoke being one of her favorite activities. While she usually plays the "straight man" role to Tomo's antics, Yomi occasionally displays a sharp and sometimes cruel sense of humor. She also has a powerful uppercut that Tomo often experiences when pushing Yomi too far. Although Yomi likes to think of herself as more mature than her classmates, she has shown on occasions that she can be just as childish, such as when she tried to get Chiyo to infuse a shrine charm with intelligence to help her pass her college entrance exams.
