The First Master and founder of the Fairy Tail Guild, Mavis Vermillion is often referred to as the mother of Fairy Tail. In X686, she, along with Precht, Warrod Sequen, and Yury Dreyar, established the guild, with Mavis serving as its first master. Upon completing the guild's building, the four founders posed for a photo with their new headquarters in the background, marking the birth of Fairy Tail. Later, Mavis entrusted the leadership to Precht, who became the second master. As a tribute, Fairy Tail members created a grave for her on the sacred Tenrou Island.
Known by the epithet "Fairy Tactician," Mavis was celebrated for her brilliant strategies that led her team to numerous victories during battles. However, shortly before founding the guild, Mavis used an incomplete version of Fairy Law. The magic's immense strain left her body unable to grow or mature, forever trapping her in a youthful form.
