Madoka is a middle school student and, unlike most characters, she is not enrolled at Todou Academy. She is the current head of the Mawari Family, a White Feather Family known for their expertise in swordsmanship. Madoka is a carefree and kind-hearted girl who has a fondness for sweets, as evidenced by her attempt to run off with all the ice cream she and Aya Natsume bought for their group. She tends to give people cute nicknames by abbreviating their surnames and adding Japanese honorifics, such as mi-chan, te-chan, mata-kun, and kabu-rin.
Initially, Madoka's personality was quite different due to being under a manipulation jutsu cast by Sōhaku Kago. Under this influence, she had reduced sensitivity to pain and displayed an unwavering determination. The spell also made her believe she was in love with Sōhaku, but after being freed from it, she now views him as an enemy responsible for her parents' deaths. Madoka is not the sole surviving member of her family; someone with her surname assists Souichiro Nagi in his training.
After being released from the manipulation jutsu, Madoka begins to assist the Juuken Club and develops a crush on Masataka Takayanagi, who remains oblivious to her feelings. Madoka herself doesn't seem to fully understand romantic emotions, as she couldn't comprehend why Shizuru Kamura viewed Maya Natsume as an enemy. Despite not being able to compete in the tournament, Madoka agrees to help the Juuken Club, likely driven by both her good nature and her desire to catch Masataka's attention.
