Kagesada is an arrogant but cowardly student at Todo Academy. During his freshman year, he was naive about the school's dynamics and arrogantly believed he could win the School's Election Tournament. His arrogance was quickly quashed by a teacher who frightened him into understanding his insignificance within Todo. This teacher mockingly dubbed him "Asshat" (referred to as "Scum" in the anime), a nickname that stuck throughout most of his appearances. After this incident, Kagesada became notably timid, often avoiding confrontations. By his senior year, however, he had gained significant knowledge about the school and the strategies employed by the Executive Council. He seems to be close friends with Shinichirō Kurei, and Masataka Takayanagi appears to hold him in high regard and trust his judgment.
