Liam Roach is an officer in the Amestrian State Military, stationed at Fort Briggs under the command of Major General Armstrong.

He first appeared while serving under Major Miles in Baschool, with the mission to capture Scar. In the spring of 1915, Liam, along with Mick Murray, was tasked with ensuring Winry Rockbell's safe return home.

During the Promised Day, he and Mick remained at Rockbell Automail to safeguard Pinako Rockbell and Winry Rockbell. However, they were powerless against the Nationwide Transmutation Circle.
