Lafarga serves as the Captain of the Guard, entrusted with the vital task of protecting the Pillar. Despite Cephiro being a generally peaceful land, he stays occupied by eliminating the occasional monsters that emerge. When Zagato seizes control of the country, he uses hypnosis to turn Lafarga against the Magic Knights in a desperate attempt to thwart them before they confront him directly. However, the girls succeed in bringing Lafarga back to his senses. He faces off against Zagato around the same time Hikaru meets Rayearth, and during her efforts to assist Lafarga, she manages to summon her Mashin. In the latter part of the story, Lafarga develops a romantic relationship with Caldina.
The character is named after the Honda Rafaga, which is a sister model to the Ascot.
